Conference at 5th CIFTIS boosts cooperation between China and German-speaking countries

Delegates from Austria, Belgium, Germany and China gathered in Beijing on May 31 to attend a conference on better informing the service sector and trade cooperation between each other.

Organized by the Kaiyuan Commercial Service Company, the conference attracted nearly 300 representatives, including embassy officials and representatives of enterprises and associations from German-speaking countries.

Zhao Jin, general manager of the Kaiyuan Commercial Service Company, briefed upon the relevant industries and investment environment in Austria, Belgium and Germany.

“The prospect of investing in China is bright,” said Li Ang, head of the China branch of the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses.

“In the future, small and medium-sized enterprises from Germany will become the main investors in China,” Li added.

China pays more attention to intellectual property rights protection, which will make overseas investment entities feel safer, he said.

Denis Drost, chief operating officer of the Elevation Media, briefed upon the market expansion and cooperation between his company and the Chinese counterpart at the conference.

The conference was part of the fifth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the first comprehensive platform specializing in the trade of services around the world.

Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Beijing municipal government, the fair has attracted 120 countries and regions.
