Suspect who escaped from Jiangsu court caught in Hunan

A suspected drug trafficker who escaped court during a trial in Nantong, Jiangsu province, last month was captured in Huaihua, Hunan province, on Thursday morning, Nantong police said.
The 33-year-old suspect, Ma Tingjiang, asked to use the restroom at the court on June 26 and escaped by jumping out of a second-floor window despite being handcuffed.
The jobless man was sentenced to 13 years behind bars for robbery in 2005 and was released in 2014. He was then arrested by Nantong police on suspicion of drug trafficking in December last year.
Police classified Ma as "extremely dangerous" and offered a reward of 50,000 yuan ($7,550) for information leading to his capture. He was finally caught thanks to the assistance of the Ministry of Public Security and police in many provinces, Nantong police said.
The bailiffs who failed to guard Ma at the court in Nantong have been suspended from duty.
