More than 50 farmers in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region performed in a golden yellow rapeseed flower field to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.
Joined by visitors, the farmers, ranging in age from toddlers to grandmothers, waved Chinese flags to the song, My Motherland and Me, one of the most patriotic songs in China. The lyrics of the song are believed to be inspired by the beautiful landscapes in the region.
The performance ended with farmers lining up and forming the number "70" in the field.
Luo Shijie, the organizer of the performance, said as life of local farmers is getting better, mostly thanks to the tourism program initiated by the government, he decided to encourage his folks to express their gratitude with the performance.
The village is now at its peak tourism season with people from around the country visiting it to see the blooming rapeseed flowers.
