Chief Executive of HKSAR Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor on Friday decried the attack on HKSAR's Secretary for Justice in London as a "savage act" that goes beyond any civilized society.
Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng Yuek-wah was attacked and injured on her way to an event in London on Thursday, London time). She reported the incident to the London Police and requested the case be taken seriously and the culprits be brought to justice.
In a statement issued early on Friday morning Hong Kong time, Cheng denounced "all forms of violence and radicalism depriving others' legitimate rights in the pretext of pursuing their political ideals, which would never be in the interest of Hong Kong or any civilized society".
