Edwin Tan to run IMAX show in China
IMAX China Holding Inc appointed Edwin Tan (pictured) as CEO, effective Dec 9. In his new role, Tan will shoulder the responsibility for driving box-office revenues and theater network growth. Prior, he was the former president of Wanda Studios and most recently CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai.
Tsinghua Unigroup picks Sakamoto for CEO
Tsinghua Unigroup Co Ltd named Yukio Sakamoto as senior vice-president and CEO for its Japanese operations. Prior, Sakamoto was vice-president of Texas Instruments Japan, head of semiconductor division at Kobe Steel, president and representative director of UMC Japan, and CEO of Elpida Memory. Zhao Weiguo, chairman and CEO of Unigroup, said the appointment is a testament to the company's global expansion and will boost its capacity for innovation.
Dong to drive Volvo Trucks on mainland
Volvo Trucks appointed Michael Dong as president of its Chinese branch. Dong will be responsible for overseeing local operations and strategy. Dong said he will lead the local team to bring better products and services to clients, and will endeavor to guide Volvo Trucks' Chinese operations to a new high among the company's sales network spanning over 140 countries.
