China will unswervingly carry out the even more pro-active strategy of opening-up, reform and innovation in the new era to promote the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics and create more opportunities for the world through win-win cooperation, a senior official said on Monday.

China in the new era will be much more open, and its reform and innovation will be ceaseless, said Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, at the International Symposium on China and the World in the New Era organized by the Renmin University of China in Beijing.

Reviewing the country's opening-up policy in the past decades, Xu said China's opening-up and development has provided vast market to other countries, and push for even more reasonable allocation of the global resources.

"Through its going-out strategy, China has not only helped other countries build roads, bridges, schools and hospitals, but also has created job opportunities and light up the hope of living a better life," Xu said.

In the face of the rising protectionism and the backlash against globalization, Xu said, China's strong resolve to adhere to the opening-up policy, and safeguard multilateral trading system and uphold an open global economy still remain unchanged.

Saying China's modernization has no precedent, Xu underlined the importance of reform and innovation in the country's development.

In the new era, China will continue to firmly advance reform and innovation for the benefit of the country's development, the people's wellbeing and the long-term interests of future generations, Xu said.
