Food, drinks expo turns virtual this year
The 102nd China Food and Drinks Fair will be held online from July 28 to July 30 after a postponement due to COVID-19, according to the event's organizing committee. Known as a barometer of the industry, the biannual fair was originally scheduled to be held from May 21 to May 23 in Chengdu, capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province.
Cargo transport index up last month
China's cargo transport industry reported growth last month as business activities further resumed, industry data showed. The China Transportation Services Index stood at 144.6 points last month, down 16.5 percent on a yearly basis, according to the China Academy of Transportation Sciences. The decrease was 5.4 percentage points lower than that recorded in April. The subindex for cargo transport edged up by 0.8 percent on a yearly basis last month, a sign of recovery from the contraction in the first four months.
