DELIVERY MARKET
China's food delivery market saw rapid expansion in the first half of 2020 as more people chose to order food online in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, an industry report showed. Food delivery, it is estimated, will account for about 20 percent of China's catering industry in 2020, said the report released by the Meituan Research Institute and the China Hospitality Association. The report predicted that the market will continue to expand to reach 1 trillion yuan ($142. 85 billion) within the next three years.
CULINARY DELIGHTS
The Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou has launched three mooncake packages, featuring a selection of new delicious options alongside classic flavors. From classic and deluxe to luxury, the packages are ideal gifts for family, friends and business associates to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in October, according to the company.
The Peninsula Beijing is offering a weekend brunch at its lounge from 11:30 am to 3 pm in a relaxed atmosphere for social gatherings. The culinary team with the hotel will prepare a variety of appetizers and main dishes as well as a selection of desserts and cocktails for diners. A live jazz performance will also add a touch of rhythm to the enjoyment of a slow-paced lifestyle.
