Premier Li Keqiang inspected the Business & Innovation Center for China-Europe Cooperation (CCEC) in Chengdu on April 20.

By taking the initiative in serving China’s opening-up strategy, the center has attracted over 170 well-known international organizations and enterprises.

The Premier talked with representatives from both domestic and foreign enterprises and learned about difficulties they encountered, as well as the policy support they need.

In the center exhibition hall, 14 representatives from many industries in Germany, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Japan, ROK, Singapore, and India talked about their experiences in investing in China. Many of them have lived in Chengdu for many years and are very optimistic about China’s market.

Premier Li praised them for staying in Chengdu throughout the epidemic, and for playing their roles in stabilizing the industrial and supply chain in China and the rest of the world.

What they have done amounts to contributions to China’s modernization, as well as global economic recovery, the Premier said, adding that every tiny effort will accelerate world economic recovery, thus providing material support for the epidemic fight.

Chengdu is an important city in Southwest China, with a broad marketplace, great development potential and unlimited business opportunities. Long-term investments and development are welcomed, the Premier said.

As always, China will adhere to the policy of opening-up with greater openness. The country will continue to forge a market-oriented and law-based international business environment, and treat foreign enterprises as equals in fair competition, the Premier added.

He added that China will be an important investment destination for a long time. He called the representatives bridges for business and trade, and envoys for people-to-people exchanges. The Premier also extended his hope that they could mark achievements on both China’s and their own countries’ histories.

Many representatives from China-invested enterprises greeted the Premier as he exited the center, and the Premier said that communication and cooperation between Chinese and foreign businesses are helping both sides discover new business opportunities, learn new things, and constantly boost opening-up.

The center should seek cooperation in both Europe and the whole world to become a larger platform for opening-up and cooperation, and a larger center for global cooperation.
