Summit to discuss role of multinationals
The second Qingdao Multinationals Summit, to be held from July 15 to 16 in Qingdao, Shandong province, will discuss the key role of multinationals in reshaping global industrial chains and clarify the relationship between the Chinese market and multinationals for mutual promotion and common growth, according to Qian Keming, China's vice-minister of commerce. The summit will build a platform for dialog between multinationals and political and academic communities, and discuss major issues such as development, cooperation, responsibility and governance of multinationals, he said.
Unmanned delivery vehicles get green light
Three companies were given permits on Tuesday to operate unmanned delivery vehicles on designated open roads in Beijing, the first time that such vehicles are being allowed in the Chinese capital. E-commerce giant JD, online service company Meituan, and the autonomous driving vehicle producer Neolix received ID numbers for the vehicles at the eighth International Congress of Intelligent Connected Vehicles Technology in Beijing.
PBOC injects $1.56b via reverse repos
The People's Bank of China, the central bank, injected 10 billion yuan ($1.56 billion) into the money market via reverse repos on Wednesday to maintain reasonably ample liquidity in the banking system. The interest rate for the seven-day reverse repos was set at 2.2 percent, according to a statement on the PBOC website.
