Moldovan ambassador talks China ties, upcoming Olympics

Q: Does Moldova plan to introduce any specific steps to boost cooperation with China in economic, cultural or other areas this year?

Dumitru Braghis: Honoring my duty, I am doing my best to bring both countries closer and create new opportunities for Moldovan and Chinese people. We have many things to learn from China in terms of infrastructure, technology and innovation, and I concentrate my efforts to present the best Chinese practices and experiences in country development to the relevant departments in my country. Moldova also has many things to share and provide, such as high-standard education programs, excellent investment incentives, beautiful tourist sites, including UNESCO heritage sites, bird-watching and kayaking among others, export of high-quality agriproducts, and finally our culture, excellent wine and the original flavor of our cuisine.

Talking about specific steps to boost our cooperation in various steps, I will highlight several: ensuring permanent participation to main economic events and trade fairs throughout China, a very active presence on the biggest and best Chinese platforms of digital commerce, consistent promotion through mass media tools, keeping close contacts with local governments and visiting more cities and regions in China.

Of course, we are interested in the huge potential of the Chinese market, and we hope to see more Moldovan products here, as cosmetics, ecological pure agriproducts, fashion, textile, beverages, etheric oils, seeds oils, dry fruits and nuts and others. With nine million bottles of wine sold every year in China, the Moldovan wine promotion story is a success, as it is praised and appreciated by Chinese consumers.
