Ningxia adjusts its COVID-19 rules

The Ningxia Hui autonomous region's COVID-19 prevention and control department adjusted local measures on Thursday to guarantee that people will be able to travel as much as possible.
The department said local governments should accurately designate areas that are considered high-risk, and the scope must not be arbitrarily expanded. When no new infections are found for five consecutive days, the areas will be downgraded to low risk.
Travel restrictions for people in low-risk areas should be removed, it said.
The new measures also outlined new rules for education facilities.
For schools without infected cases, students can resume classes on campus, and those who were locked down on campuses can choose to return home.
In cities and counties where no cases outside quarantined areas across the region are detected within five days, primary and secondary schools and childcare institutions may be allowed to reopen after their situations are assessed.
