Marking the country's latest effort to preserve and research classic radio and television works, the Chinese Research Centre for Radio and TV Art has recently been established in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The center's launching ceremony was held in Communication University of Zhejiang, gathering nearly 200 participants from authorities and related institutions such as the National Radio and Television Administration and Chinese Television Arts Commission.

The center is planned to display and research some of the most popular award-winning works of top industry honors like Flying Apsaras Awards, TV Art Starlight Award and Golden Voice, taking them as a basis to explore the successful formulas for uplifting the showbiz content's quality.

The center has recruited more than 20 experts, including Zhong Chengxiang, a scholar at China Central Institute for Culture and History, and Hu Zhengrong, director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as the center's researchers.

Going Back Home, a long-running cultural program featuring more than 400 celebrities and their connections with their hometowns, has donated its video archives to the center. In addition, The Age of Awakening, a popular revolutionary TV series chronicling the history from the New Culture Movement to the founding of the Communist Party of China, has also donated its classical props.
