Sanya sees strong start in inbound tourism

Recent data reveals a significant surge in international tourism interest towards Sanya, indicating its rapid progression towards becoming a world-class tourist destination.

During the Spring Festival holiday, hotel bookings for inbound tourists on OTA platforms skyrocketed by 120.2 percent compared to the previous year. Hotel occupancy rates in core tourist resorts like Dadonghai and Sanya Bay notably increased, with foreign overnight guests at Sunshine Resort Intime Sanya accounting for over 40 percent of the total.

Sanya Phoenix International Airport has introduced multilingual service stations and streamlined entry procedures to convenience international tourists. On the first day of Chinese New Year, international visitors received special gifts like Li brocade sachets and coconut carvings at the airport.

During the holiday, Sanya integrated traditional culture with modern tourism, hosting a series of cultural and tourism activities. The Dadonghai Resort's Chinese New Year Garden Party showcased Li and Miao cultures, iron flower-making, and hanfu experiences, attracting numerous foreign tourists. Visitors engaged in traditional customs like dumpling making, calligraphy writing, and the Li ethnic group's fire-making custom in interactive areas.

Sanya collaborated with several international travel agencies and airlines to create unique tourism products, offering exclusive inbound tourism promotions tailored for major overseas markets.

Officials from the Sanya tourism board expressed their commitment to building upon the success of Spring Festival, continuously improving marketing strategies and deepening the integration of culture and tourism, thus attracting more international tourists.
