PLA tracks US warships transiting Taiwan Strait

The Chinese People's Liberation Army monitored two United States warships that transited the Taiwan Strait from Monday to Wednesday, a spokesman said early Wednesday.
The PLA's Eastern Theater Command spokesman Li Xi emphasized in a statement that "the US actions have sent the wrong signals and increased security risks".
He said that from Monday to Wednesday, the destroyer USS Ralph Johnson and survey ship USNS Bowditch transited the Taiwan Strait.
The theater command organized naval and air forces to monitor and respond to the US ships' transit throughout the entire process, Li said.
The spokesman warned that the theater command forces remain on high alert at all times, resolutely defending national sovereignty, security, and regional peace and stability.
