    Shizhu Mountain Scenic Zone in Fuqing city

    Stretching across approximately 23 kilometers, the Xiamen Mountains-to-Sea Trail encompasses "eight mountains and three waters", such as Jinshan, Lakeside Reservoir, and Wuyuan Bay.     As the largest and most intact subtropical forest ecosystem at its latitude worldwide, Wuyishan National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity. The park harbors a rich variety of subtropical, temperate, and tropical plants, as well as numerous orchid families. Its diverse ecosystems provide sanctuary for rare animals and endangered insects, earning it recognition as an "insect world", "a haven for birds", and "a key to opening up the world of amphibians and reptiles".

    Saming Geshikao Nature Reserve

    Nestled within one of the world's largest natural Geshikao forests, Saming Geshikao Nature Reserve boasts unparalleled biodiversity. Housing nearly a thousand plant species, over 300 rare birds and animals, 400 insect species, and more than 40 economically significant fungi, this reserve serves as a verdant gem of ecological abundance and protection.

    Meihuashan Nature Reserve in Longyan

    Covering 225.7 square kilometers with an impressive 89 percent forest coverage, Meihuashan Nature Reserve is designated as a world A-level nature reserve and a vital habitat for the endangered South China tigers. Over the past two decades, the reserve has successfully bred and nurtured more than 60 South China tigers, making significant contributions to the national conservation efforts.
