Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday expressed China's firm opposition to the United States' unilateral bullying practice of attempting to impose a comprehensive blockade on the country's chip industry during talks with President of Asia Society Kyung-wha Kang in Beijing.

Wang's remarks follows progress of the high-level economic and trade talks between Beijing and Washington, which he said further demonstrates that equal dialogue, mutual respect, and properly addressing each other's legitimate concerns are in the shared interests of both countries.

He reiterated that China's policy toward the US is consistent and stable, underpinned by the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation.

Noting the Asia-Pacific as both a convergence point for shared interests and a focal point of contradictions and differences between the two countries, Wang proposed prioritizing positive interaction in the region as a pathway to build a right way of getting along with each other and find effective means to achieve win-win cooperation.

China advocates practicing true multilateralism and open regionalism, and seeks to build the greatest common denominator of unity and cooperation to jointly address global challenges, he added.

Wang also acknowledged the Asia Society for its role in facilitating Sino-US dialogue and mutual understanding, expressing hope for its continued efforts in bridging gaps and promoting a correct understanding of China among the American public.

Kang affirmed the organization's dedication to sharing objective and fact-based China perspectives and pledged to cooperate with insightful individuals from the US to establish dialogue platforms that eliminate misunderstandings and promote mutual understanding.

The Asia Society, founded in 1956 and headquartered in New York, is a non-profit, non-partisan think tank dedicated to advancing cultural exchange and policy research between the US and Asia.
