Changfeng Xincun subdistrict in Shanghai's Putuo district is emerging as a bustling hub of economic prosperity, age-friendly inclusivity, and international connectivity, showcasing a vibrant vision that contributes to Shanghai's dynamic urban evolution.

Once the cradle of China's early national industries, Changfeng Xincun has undergone a remarkable transformation along the Suzhou Creek waterfront. Today, it hosts over 5,000 enterprises within 98 high-rise commercial buildings, symbolizing a shift towards dynamic growth and innovation.

The subdistrict's economic landscape is anchored by the Shanghai sci-tech financial industry cluster, with a focus on life and health industries, sci-tech finance, intelligent software, and research and development services.

Urban renewal efforts in the subdistrict encompass elevator retrofits and neighborhood upgrades, creating a high-quality living environment that seamlessly blends historical charm with modern amenities, catering to residents of all ages.

Key landmarks such as the Shanghai Children's Library, Shanghai Putuo Maternity and Infant Health Hospital, Changfeng Sci-Tech Valley, and Changfeng Park contribute to the subdistrict's allure by offering educational activities, healthcare services, innovation hubs, and green leisure spaces.

The Shanghai Children's Library, with its impressive collection of 1.6 million volumes and innovative outreach programs, attracts nearly 2.7 million visitors annually, serving as a beloved community hub.

The Putuo Maternity and Child Health Hospital, equipped with 180 beds and state-of-the-art facilities, provides comprehensive care across all stages of life, establishing itself as a beacon of maternal and child health in Shanghai.

At the same time, the Changfeng Sci-Tech Valley has emerged as a modern innovation hub, attracting firms in microelectronics and artificial intelligence with its cutting-edge labs, collaborative workspaces, and convenient commercial facilities.

Highlighting Changfeng's global outlook, the recently held 21st Suzhou Creek Dragon Boat Race brought together 58 teams comprising over 1,000 athletes from both domestic and international backgrounds. Notably, the number of foreign participants surged by 81.6 percent compared to the previous year.

International rowers from countries like the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia joined local teams in spirited yet friendly competition, experiencing the excitement and unity that dragon boating fosters. In addition, the Dragon Boat Riverside Fair, held alongside the race, offered a blend of cultural performances, shopping experiences, and interactive crafts along the Suzhou Creek.

This convergence of sports, commerce, culture, and global participation positions Changfeng Xincun subdistrict as a gateway for international audiences to immerse themselves in the vibrant essence of Shanghai.
