Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province recently released a three-year action plan (2025-27) to improve its living environment and further boost the well-being of local residents.
In the upcoming three years, the city plans to construct 15 characteristic streets and alleys each year, establish 30 new-style recreational spaces, and develop iconic riverside landmarks such as the Jiangnan Canal Cultural Park.
The city will also continue carrying out intelligent upgrades, with 80 road parking spots to be managed by robots and eight express lanes piloting unmanned cleaning.
Over the past three years, Wuxi has created 100 rest spaces, installed around 12,000 rest seats, revamped 183.73 kilometers of perimeter walls, added approximately 10.22 million square meters of green spaces, and built or renovated 282 parks and amusement parks.
To address the issue of parking challenges, a collaborative effort between State-owned enterprises and sub-districts has led to the provision of over 18,000 shared parking spaces by 322 government units in the city during off-peak hours. The implementation of an intelligent parking system has resulted in a 40 percent increase in parking efficiency.
Data indicates that in 2024, the perceived cleanliness of Wuxi's urban environment by its residents reached 91.16 percent, marking a consistent improvement over the years.
