Senior Guizhou official under investigation for suspected discipline violations

Wu Shenghua, a senior official in Guizhou province, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top disciplinary watchdogs said on Thursday.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Supervisory Commission announced the investigation on their website.
Public information shows that Wu, born in 1966, has spent most of his career in Guizhou under various positions, including head of Guiding county, governor of Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, and vice-governor of the province.
In April 2022, Wu was appointed to the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and a month later became Party secretary of Bijie city. He held both posts when the investigation was announced.
