Man detained after deadly attack in Nanchang

A man has been detained after attacking two people with scissors in Nanchang, killing one and injuring another on Sunday, according to a statement released by local police on Tuesday.
The incident occurred near Qingyunpu road in Nanchang's Qingyunpu district at around 13:40 on Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as a 23-year-old man surnamed Xi, from Gao'an in Jiangxi province, who has a history of mental health treatment.
The two victims, named by police as Liu and Shi, were taken to hospital. Liu later succumbed to her injuries, while Shi remains in a stable condition, according to the statement.
The case is currently under investigation, it added.
