This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War. The principle and policies of the national united front against Japanese aggression was formed in 1937. During this period, over 50,000 Taiwan compatriots had returned to the Chinese mainland to join the fight. What drove them to do so?
