Chongqing dazzles with Curry-themed drone show
On Monday night, the skies of Chongqing lit up with a spectacular basketball-themed drone light show to welcome NBA star and Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, who launched his 2025 Curry Brand China Tour in the municipality earlier that day.
The show highlighted Curry's iconic imagery, including his signature three-point shot and portrait, alongside the city's famous landmarks.
During the event, the basketball legend also enjoyed traditional Sichuan Opera face-changing performances and interacted with Chongqing's AI robot dog, Sirius, known for its ability to sense emotions and move with precision.
Stephen Curry is among the most popular NBA players in China, boasting more than 5.78 million followers on Sina Weibo, China's social media platform like X.
On June 17, Chongqing set a Guinness World Record with a mesmerizing drone light show featuring 11,787 drones in synchronized formations, creating the largest aerial image ever made by drones. Since July, the city's drone light show has become a regular event.
