China's anti-graft chief urges further improving discipline inspection work

JINAN -- China's anti-graft chief Li Xi has called for greater efforts to ensure the high-quality development of discipline inspection and supervision work.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during a research tour to East China's Shandong province that lasted from Wednesday to Friday.
Li underlined that the efforts to improve Party conduct, build integrity, and combat corruption should extend to the grassroots level and target the most pressing issues of public concern.

He also urged efforts to foster the culture of integrity and to serve the country's high-quality development with solid discipline inspection and supervision work.
When presiding over a symposium to review the progress of discipline inspection and supervision work and solicit opinions and suggestions, Li stressed that discipline inspection and supervision agencies play an important role in advancing the self-reform of the CPC.
Li called on these agencies to intensify efforts in combating misconduct and graft, particularly those affecting people's daily lives, and improve their own capabilities in an effective and persistent manner.
