Partnerships for peace, progress and stability stressed

President Xi Jinping on Saturday called on China and Egypt to promote greater development of bilateral ties and make more contributions to global peace, stability and prosperity, when meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
Noting that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, Xi said the China-Egypt relationship is currently at its best in history.
As the two countries will celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, Xi said both sides should seize this opportunity to advance bilateral ties toward building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era, and inject new momentum into China's relations with Arab and African countries. Xi also highlighted the need for China and Egypt to be close friends in multilateral collaboration, upholding responsibilities of both as major countries of the Global South.
Madbouly said that Egypt values its relationship with China, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges and expand trade and investment. He also expressed Egypt's commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs.
