China's V-Day commemorations enhance confidence in advancing national rejuvenation: Xi

BEIJING -- China's V-Day commemorations have strengthened the nation's resolve and confidence in building a strong country and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts, President Xi Jinping has said.

Xi made the remarks in a recent speech after hearing a report summarizing activities held to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The speech by Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, was conveyed on Wednesday at a summary meeting of the commemorative activities.
