China eyes deeper industrial cooperation with ASEAN

NANNING -- China will step up industrial cooperation with ASEAN through high-standard opening up, better-coordinated mechanisms and practical measures, China's Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng said.
In recent years, China has made new industrialization a key task, with its high-quality development continuously injecting fresh impetus into China-ASEAN cooperation, Li noted during a ministerial roundtable meeting held in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
China has remained ASEAN's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, while ASEAN has been China's top trading partner for five years in a row.
China supports enterprises of all countries in joining global industrial and supply chains and will work with ASEAN countries to jointly promote digital transformation in manufacturing, he said, adding that China stands ready to build platforms for cooperation in smart, green and high-end manufacturing.
At the meeting, participants adopted an initiative to enhance industrial policy coordination, strengthen strategic alignment, share practical experience, and foster a regional innovation ecosystem.
