New China Life reaps US$3.34b in premium revenue

New China Life Insurance Co Ltd realized 26 billion yuan (US$3.34 billion) in premium revenue in 2006, an increase of 23.8 percent from the previous year.

The company's premium income accounts for 6.6 percent of the sector's total revenue, up by 0.6 percent and ranking fourth in China's life insurance market.

New China Life Insurance enjoyed fast growth in its core business. The growth rate of individual insurance business, renewal business, short-term group insurance and regular premium insurance business via banks reached 39, 47, 33 and 260 percent respectively.
