    The Uber of HR

By Jing Shuiyu | China Daily | Updated: 2017-08-28 08:06

Hiring tends to be time-consuming, more so for Wang Lin, 30, the head of overseas business with Walltrek, a relatively new Chinese online recruitment startup that was incubated in Beijing in 2016 and has since expanded overseas rapidly.

Wang was tasked to hire at least five foreign employees for call centers abroad. Luckily, she found a "shortcut".

Walltrek's multinational team of hiring professionals offers help "at a much lower cost than the market average", Wang said. The startup developed a system that links employers and matching candidates among the jobseekers.

Stefan Djokovic, a Serbian, founder and CEO of Walltrek, calls the service the "Uber of Human Resources" - the matching system helps reduce the time and cost of both jobseekers and employers.

"Employers can use filters to search the database based on candidates' candid information and video resumes," said Djokovic. Unlike popular online job websites and hiring agencies that focus on Fortune 500 labels and big corporates, Walltrek serves small and medium-sized businesses by offering a global talent pool.

"Established headhunters favor the Fortune 500 companies as customers as the latter are often in need of mid-level managers. Walltrek offers tailor-made services to small businesses," he said.

Walltrek has 20 clients across industries like education, healthcare, and trade and has already helped several employers find exactly the kind of candidates they were looking for.

Having gained some recognition in the marketplace, Djokovic is keen to upgrade Walltrek's system next month, and open two new offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou by next summer. He is seeking strategic investors as well.

Djokovic said huge opportunities arising from the Belt and Road Initiative will boost communication and innovation between China and Serbia.

Asked about the biggest challenge facing entrepreneurs like him in China, Djokovic said registration formalities tend to be strenuous. "I wish foreign-funded startups could enjoy similar one-stop service as Chinese companies."
