Bogey behind resolution

A resolution on Tibet passed by the European Parliament on April 10 rudely interferes with China's internal affairs, says an article in People's Daily. The following is an excerpt:

On April 10, the European Parliament passed a resolution on Tibet, calling on heads of the member states of the European Union (EU) and high EU representatives not to attend the Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony unless the Chinese government resumes the dialogue with the Dalai Lama.

Such an act violates the spirit of the Olympic Charter and makes the Olympic Games a political event. It provides support to Tibetan separatists and rudely interferes with China's internal affairs. It also undermines the Sino-EU relations and seriously hurts the feelings of Chinese people. It will not be accepted by the Chinese government and the Chinese people, or by any international community with a sense of justice.

The Lhasa riots were a criminal incident organized and inspired by the Dalai group. The aim of the riots was to put pressure on the Chinese government by creating rifts and shedding blood. In this way they intend to disrupt the Beijing Olympic Games and wreck the stability and harmony of the country. This incident again proves that the Dalai group essentially aims to separate Tibet from the motherland. It also proves the hypocrisy of the Dalai group who appears to preach "peace" and "non-violence".

The European Parliament turned a blind eye to the looting and arson by rioters and did not condemn the Dalai group, which was the behind-the-scene organizer. Instead, it falsely accused the Chinese government of repression.

In fact, it is not surprising to see the European Parliament pass this kind of resolution. Within the European Parliament, there is no shortage of people who wear "color spectacles" to watch China. Though these people verbally admit that Tibet is part of China, they do not accept it in their hearts and support those Tibetan separatists.

In addition, against the backdrop of globalization and the industrial downslide in some European countries, many ordinary people in Europe are worried about their future due to the loss of jobs. Because of this, some Western media have taken this opportunity to create fears about an emerging China and misguide the ordinary people who have little knowledge of China.
