The determination indicated by the Party's latest move to improve its health and leadership in State governance has been hailed by experts from a number of countries.

Dmitry Novikov, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, praised China's anti-corruption efforts.

The moves are expected to help China remain on the path it has chosen to succeed, and has led to new achievements in its drive to develop socialism with Chinese characteristics, said Novikov, who is also a member of the Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament.

Ahmed Wali, a former Egyptian foreign minister assistant and an economics expert, said the CPC's bid to strengthen Party governance will push forward China's anti-corruption drive and create an environment conducive to the country's development.

"China's Belt and Road Initiative has brought new developmental opportunities for countries along the route, including Egypt. We hope the Communist Party of China will continue its anti-corruption work, ensure the continued rapid development of the Chinese economy and propel global economic growth," he said.

The CPC's intra-Party democracy and ability to advance with time have long helped make it a success and a mainstay in China, rallying widespread support from the Chinese people, Wali said.

Li Zhuohui, a political analyst from Indonesia, noted the link between the CPC's self-improvement and China's economic achievements under its leadership and said the ruling party has a long tradition of maintaining strict Party governance. He added that a ruling party has to advance with time, as all political parties face new challenges in the course of development.

Zheng Yongnian, director of the East Asian Institute at the National University of Singapore, said the conference enabled the CPC to raise rule of law in Party governance to new heights.

He said he believes strict, comprehensive Party governance is the CPC's priority in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

Phosy Chanhming, director of the China Studies Center at the National University of Laos, hailed the CPC's efforts to impose tougher self-discipline. "Strict supervision is important for keeping a party and its members clean and trusted by the public," Phosy said.

Professor Macharia Munene, a diplomacy scholar in Nairobi, Kenya, said the CPC has scored a unique achievement in growing from fewer than 100 members to more than 88 million.

As a result of its strict governance, the CPC has managed to maintain positive and rapid development since its birth, he said, noting that fresh discipline and rules adopted in light of the new situation will make the Party stronger.

The CPC's efforts to combat corruption and uphold Party values are key to winning the hearts and minds of the Chinese people, he said.
