The little sister of Beijing's original Irish pub, Durty Nellie's at Moma faces stiff competition from Paddy O' Shea's in winning the hearts of Dongzhimen boozehounds.

It doesn’t help that the new Durty Nellie's also lacks the crowd, band, foosball and size of its namesake. The good thing is that the excellent drinks, from the trusty Guinness (50 yuan/pint) to the well mixed cocktail (35-45 yuan), remain. There are also Qingdaos (15 yuan), Heinekens (30 yuan) and a selection of wines. One can enjoy al fresco pubbing under the outdoor canopies.

The small kitchen also offers up tasteful pub fare. Manager Xia explains that with a location under a residential building where loud music is not allowed at night, the new Durty Nellies caters primarily to the lunch and after-work business set.

Free Wi-Fi, however, means you can download and pump up your headphones to the Pogues no matter what hour it is.
