High-end developer sees a greener future

BEIJING - Beijing Vantone Real Estate Co Ltd, a leading high-end property developer, has launched a project focused on sustainability.
The company will develop 10 million square meters of "green" buildings within five years, said its Chairman Feng Lun, who added it would save 2.45 million tons of carbon emissions that traditional structures would have consumed.
Meanwhile, the company has set up a research and development center for green products financed from 0.5 percent of its annual revenues. The initial outlay will be 25 million yuan.
