Portugal winger Conceicao returns to Lazio
    ( 2003-08-07 10:08) (Agencies)

Portugal winger Sergio Conceicao has rejoined former club Lazio the Serie A side said on Wednesday.

Lazio said Conceicao, 28, who was freed from his contract with Inter Milan last month, will undergo a medical on Thursday before completing a deal in which he will pick up a 900,000 euros ($1.03 million) annual salary.

Conceicao played for Rome club Lazio from 1998 to 2000 and was a key part of then coach Sven Goran Eriksson's championship winning side in 2000 before making a surprise move to Parma.

He then joined Inter in 2001, on striker Christian Vieri's recommendation after the two had enjoyed a fruitful partnership at Lazio.

The right-winger was unable to hold down a regular starting spot in Hector Cuper's side last season and the arrival of Brazilian winger Luciano and Dutchman Andy van der Meyde at Inter made a move almost inevitable.

Lazio face Portuguese side Benfica next Wednesday in their Champions League third qualifying round tie.
