    Heat wave sweeps Europe

    Bordeaux, France: A lady suns herself as a couple jump into a pool in Bordeaux. The heat wave that has hit France and the rest of Europe is here to stay till at least next weekend according to the French weather forecasters. [AP]

    Munich, Germany: A zookeeper sprays water on an elephant during a heat wave at Munich's Zoo August 10, 2003. Germany is experiencing extreme weather conditions during the summer season, as temperatures consistenly rise above 40 degrees Centigrade, 104 degrees Fahrenheit. [Reuters]
