Man found alive while about to be buried in Bangladesh
    ( 2003-09-10 16:16) (Agencies)

An old man was found alive while he was about to be buried as physicians declared him dead three hours ago.

Doctors in the northern Gazipur district hospital, about 40 km north of Dhaka, on Tuesday declared Abdul Hai, 65, dead, local Bengali newspaper "Janakantha" (People's Voice) reported Wednesday.

The man drank pesticide to bring an end to his life due to poverty. He was taken to the hospital and the attending physicians, after initial checkup, declared him dead.

The relatives of Hai took him back home to avoid hassle of postmortem and completed everything necessary for his burial.

Suddenly Hai moved one of his arms and came to consciousness.

Chief of the hospital declined to make any comment.
