Food poisoning hits 70 students in China
    ( 2003-09-21 16:17) (Agencies)

Authorities have discharged all but ten of 70 students hospitalised with food poisoning in the central Chinese province of Hunan, but are still hunting for the cause of the outbreak, a local health official said on Sunday.

The students, from a junior high school in Liling city, 90 km (56 miles) southeast of the provincial capital of Changsha, were stricken with diarrhoea and fever between Wednesday and Friday last week, said the official.

Last month, up to 400 migrant rural labourers fell ill after eating contaminated food in the eastern coastal city of Suzhou.
