French runner faces two-year ban for failing doping test
    ( 2003-09-23 16:26) (Xinhua)

French runner Fouad Chouki is facing a two-year ban after his B sample tested positive for the EPO (erythropoietin), local media in Paris reported on Tuesday.

Chouki's A sample had tested positive for EPO after he finished eighth in the 1,500 meters final at the world athletics championships in Paris on August 27.

The 24-year-old, who was fourth in the European championships in Munich last year, would attend a hearing of the French athletics federation's disciplinary commission on October 8.
