Bangladeshi mother gives birth to two conjoined babies
    ( 2003-10-14 15:32) (Xinhua)

A mother of Bangladesh's northeastern Brahmanbaria town Monday gave birth to two conjoined babies at local Titas general hospital.

The 23-year old mother Shaheda Khatun gave birth to the twin baby girls by a Caesarean, the Bengali daily Janakantha (People's Voice) reported Tuesday.

The babies joined by belly are now under the care of Dr. Narayan Chandra Saha, child specialist of the hospital. The physician said the twins would be sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital in Dhaka for separation.

The babies and their mother are well, the doctor said.
