    China's industrial output expected to increase 16%

    China's industrial enterprises are forecast to turn out 16 percent more added value this year than in last year, official sources said Wednesday.

    The Economic Operation Monitoring Bureau under the State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) said at a press conference that the profits of industrial enterprises were expected to exceed 750 billion yuan (US$91b) for the whole year.

    A report released by the bureau said the total profits of industrial enterprises for the year 2003 were expected to grow more than 35 percent over 2002.
