Palestinian gunman kills three Israelis in Gaza
    ( 2003-10-24 11:36) (Agencies)

A Palestinian gunman opened fire in a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip early on Friday, killing three Israelis and wounding several others, Israeli security sources said.

They said Israeli security forces were searching for the gunman, who infiltrated the heavily guarded Jewish settlement of Netzarim, in the central Gaza Strip, under cover of darkness.

The attack followed a series of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip earlier this week that killed at least 11 Palestinians, including militants and civilians, drawing vows of revenge from militants spearheading a three-year-old uprising for independence.

"Three Israelis were killed and several wounded in a terrorist attack carried out in Netzarim. The incident is not yet over," an Israeli security source said.
