Dogs to pay on public transport
    ( 2003-11-28 17:17) (Agencies)

DOGS will have to pay to travel on Berlin’s public transport system, according to plans unveiled by the city network’s operating authority for next year.

As well as a package of modifications to the series of annual, monthly and cut-price tickets, the BVG authority said Thursday that dogs should pay the same price as a child, 1.4 euros (US$1.6).

If it is found without a valid ticket on the system, the offending canine will be liable for the full adult fine of 40 euros, presumably paid by its owner.
