    HK party leader quits
    ( 2003-12-03 09:46) (eastday.com)

Hong Kong's Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong agreed last night to accept its chairman's resignation and said it would name a replacement next week as it tries to recover from a stunning electoral defeat.

Party Chairman Jasper Tsang offered to quit after his party was hurt badly in local District Council elections on November 23. DAB officials were briefing reporters in a late news conference and said they would pick a new leader a week later.
