    China, India enter semifinals of field hockey Asia Cup

    Asian Games champions China and Commonwealth Games title holders India advanced into the semifinals of the women's field hockey Asia Cup on Wednesday.

    China trounced Malaysia 7-1 in their last group match while India rolled over Kazakhstan 8-0 to book a berth in the semifinals.

    Both India and China finished with 7 points in Group A but India took the top spot due to superior goal difference.

    The other two semifinalists are South Korea and Japan but the semifinal matchup will be decided after the final Group B match between the two teams later on Wednesday.
