    Head-on collision kills nine, injures 17

    A head-on collision of two motor vehicles in northwest China's Qinghai Province left nine people dead and 17 injured on Thursday.

    A coach hit a lorry on the Provincial Highway 304 in Qilian County in the Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture at 4:40 p.m. Thursday. Six passengers from the coach and three from the lorry were killed, and 17 others were injured, local police said Friday.

    The cause of the accident is being investigated.
