Zhu Ming, 23, an engineer working in a Beijing high-tech company, said that he will not apply to dating agencies if he is alone, "because it's embarrassing and I'm likely to be cheated." Dating agencies, used to having clients that society labeled socially incompetent, now receive half of their business from company groups, according to a Beijing dating agency. However, these single white collar professionals, in most cases, are young and well educated, with considerable income too. They have heavy work loads which leave little time or energy for them to find partners, the agency said. Last week, the marriage consulting center of Beijing Women's Federation and a Beijing dating agency website held a party for singles, and quite a number found dates. The president of Beijing Lida Company Tu Haiping, who helped his more than 30 employees register at a dating agency, said that creating marriage opportunities for single employees who want marriage was a human oriented measure to win staff trust and loyalty.
