The excellent performance of the national soccer team of Portugal in the Euro 2004 allowed it to escalate 10 positions in the ranking of the International Soccer Federation (FIFA), to the 12th place.

The Portuguese team, whose most recent result was a 1-0 defeat versus Greece in the final of the Euro 2004, last Sunday, sums 715 points and a 10-position promotion from last June.

The latest FIFA's monthly ranking is headed by Brazil, followed by France and Spain, despite the poor results of these two countries in the Euro 2004.
