China's foreign trade to grow by 15 percent this year

China's total foreign trade volume is most likely to grow by 15 percent this year to reach 1.3 trillion US dollars mark, Fu Ziying, assistant minister of commerce, said here Tuesday.

A relatively rapid economic growth will be brought about worldwide in 2005, despite the global growth rate had lowered from five percent a year ago to current 4.3 percent, according to the International Monetary Fund. Hence, it provides a still larger space for China to expand its foreign trade, Fu told Xinhua at the 97th Chinese Export Commodities Fair being held in southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

As the Chinese national economy is in the uphill phase of a new growth cycle this year, the country's economic strength will be further enhanced and its foreign trade will continue to maintain a moderate growth, Fu said.
