Michelle Wie is expecting to make the cut in a Japanese men's event and even has her sights set on winning at the Casio World Open.

"I'm feeling great," said Wie, who practiced yesterday at the Kochi Kuroshio Country Club in Kochi. "Hopefully I'll be able to put together four good rounds under par here and my goal is to win the tournament."

Wie is making her sixth start in a men's professional tournament. She has failed to make the cut in three PGA Tour starts, a Nationwide Tour event and a Canadian Tour event.

"You never know what's going to happen," said Wie. "I could play well, I could play bad but hopefully I can be consistent and play well."

The US$1.17 million Casio World Open, which starts tomorrow, is the second last event on the Japanese men's tour.

The tournament is the 16-year-old star's first since she was disqualified last month in her pro debut. At the LPGA Tour's Samsung World Championship, Wie was disqualified for dropping her ball closer to the hole in the third round so she could salvage a par after hitting it into a bush.
