NEW YORK, Dec 12 (Reuters) - Chris Webber had 27 points and 21 rebounds to lead the 76ers to a 90-89 overtime victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Philadelphia on Monday.

Webber scored the go-ahead basket in the extra period and also had a key block on a shot by Kevin Garnett that could have tied the game, helping the Sixers win their third straight.

"I want the opportunity to play that way every night," Webber said after one of his best games since leaving Sacramento to join the Sixers last season.

"I want to shoot that many shots or shoot them in those spots every night."

Webber was 13-for-25 and played with the energy and determination he showed when he was a dominant player with the Kings for many seasons.

Allen Iverson added 19 points and 10 assists for Philadelphia (11-11), who lead the Atlantic Division standings despite their .500 record.

The T-Wolves saw their five-game winning streak snapped with the loss, but Minnesota (12-7) still leads the Northwest Division by two games over Denver.

The Sixers had a 10-point lead with just 4 ? minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but they allowed the Timberwolves to rally late and force the extra period, before finally hanging on to win in the overtime.

Kyle Korver added 13 points for the 76ers, while Andre Iguodala contributed 10 points, six assists and five rebounds.

"We slowed down Iverson and Korver, but then Webber comes up and bites us," Minnesota coach Dwane Casey said.

Wally Szczerbiak led Minnesota with 23 points, while Kevin Garnett added 19 points and seven rebounds for the T-Wolves, who only got to the free-throw line seven times, making four of them.

Marko Jaric had 14 points and 10 assists for the losers and Michael Olowokandi added eight points and hauled down 10 rebounds.
